  We dominated throughout, but were unable to finish off the 10-man opposition. Ashworth anchored our innings with a sound and steady 84, opening, and Meredith and Bourke, whose 50 came in only 21 balls, scored so rapidly that we were able to declare with a satisfying total in only 42 overs. The visitors began poorly with 38 for 3, and never properly recovered; our bowlers were accurate and economical, but apart from Still, who had admirable figures of 12-4-24-4, were unable to penetrate. The Nomads were rather a one-man show, B.Wadlan taking 6 of our 7 wickets that fell and making 50.
