 Tidball batted forcefully and effectively for his 110 in only 118 balls, with 15 boundaries, but he had little support except from Pyle, who helped him double the score from 61 for 3. Even so, he ensured a perfectly reasonable total in our 40 overs, but against rather ineffective bowling the visitors had little trouble in winning with 6 wickets and 3½ overs to spare.
