Our innings was dominated by a splendid knock from Kalsi, who stayed for nearly three hours to score 173 not out in only 149 balls. Tidball helped him in an opening stand of 114, and everyone else who got in made a few quickly, so we were able to declare with a formidable total in only 47 overs. Only one of the visitors reached 20, their no. 3 with 75, and we worked our way steadily through them, but three interruptions for rain limited their innings to 41 overs, and the last pair held out for a draw in a game we should certainly have won had it not been for the rain. An interesting feature was that two women played for us: neither batted, but they fielded keenly and both bowled, 11 overs between them, both taking wickets
