  This new fixture, against the Old Boys of a now-defunct prep. school in Derbyshire, was taken on at the request of Sidmouth. We batted first, and our first four batsmen, especially Bosomworth and Still, produced a solid if unspectacular performance at our now usual run a ball. 

The opposition made an excellent start with an opening stand of 127, but only one other man reached double figures as they lost all their wickets for just 53 more runs in 14 overs to the fifth, sixth and seventh bowlers we tried, Still, Bennett and Meredith, to be all out in 37 overs.
