Devon Dumplings v Shebbear College

On a breezy but sunny afternoon, Dumplings took on Shebbear College in a 30 over match.

As the College had some students engaged in exams, they were invited to bat. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Olivia Cooper taking 2 for 22 opening from the Pavilion end and Albert Buckley (1 for 27) opening at the Hall end. Matt Boundy snaffled numbers 3 and 5 to leave the students at 43 for 5. A change of bowling enabled the College to build a score on a tricky pitch

with Alfie C making 29 off 51 balls supported by Billy F and Jon-C W biffing 21 off 42 balls.

21 extras took the total to 129 all out.

In reply the College soon struck with Alfie S taking 1 for 4 off 4 overs and Charlie W

dismissing Shreyansh Ghosh for 9. Opener Peter Kent dug in, racing to 4 off 36 balls. Matt

Boundy then made 35 off 40 including a six. Martin Stewart (21) and Jim Sibcy (41) took

Dumplings home with a 44 run partnership. Charlie W took 2 for 27 off his 6 overs and the

other wicket taker was Alfie C.
