Devon Dumplings v Mount Kelly
Mount Kelly 220 for 5 (45), Devon Dumplings 222 for 5 (28.2 ) DD won by 5 wickets.
There were a few new faces in the Dumplings team, including Teddy Haffenden who received
his Dumplings cap. It was a sunny day and the scorers were able to sit near the boundary under
a most welcome gazebo.
The College, winning the toss and batting first, made a steady start, with Ayan Syed and Harry Witcher, a Dumpling and son of our Match Manager, putting on 46 before Syed was out LBW. Captain Sam Burns did not hang around long, and with Anas Syed out soon after the College were 61 for 3 from 21 overs. Witcher, joined by George Rickard put on 49 before Witcher was caught for 51 from 94 balls, having managed to avoid being dismissed by his wicket-keeping father. Rickard, joined by Zander Zambuni, improved the scoring rate taking a bit of a liking to Haffenden in the final overs. Mount Kelly finishied on 220 for 5.

Nine Dumplings had bowled, with Dimuth Sandaruwan being very economic with 2 for 7 from
his 5 overs.
In reply, Dumplings started well and were two down in the 12th over with the score on 71.
Thomas Smith was introduced into the attack and took 2 wickets in three balls, dismissing
quick-scoring Dimuth Sandaruwan, 43 from 24 balls, (9 4s and one 6), and Matt Witcher both
caught by George Rickard (95 for 4). Rickard took another catch before Mohammad Siddiqui
and Tshepo Legodi, repeatedly finding the boundary, took the Dumplings to victory in the 29th
