Devon Dumplings v The Frogs
DDCC 126 all out (29.5) Lost to The Frogs 276/4 dec (43.0)
Arriving at the ground with the covers on in light rain the third Captain of the Tour, Matt Nichols, lost the toss and was asked to field first. After a brief delay Peter Hensor and Aashay Dube started well taking the first wicket for 21 runs. Both openers were gone at 61/2 but then Kieran Gray (69) and Krish Vaja (118*) took control with a partnership of 56 before Gray was caught Hensor off Joe Poustie's bowling(44/1). Matthew Sidhu (44) and Vaja added another 108 before Bernie Wilson struck, assisted by Eddie Steele with an excellent catch on the boundary as Sidhu attempted to get his 50 with a six. Another 51 was added, largely by Vaja before the declaration at 276/4. The 4th wicket was taken by skipper Nichols (12/1). The seven bowlers used worked hard under difficult conditions and despite rain interruptions and a wet ball kept their heads.
The Dumplings reply started well enough with 39 between Jeremy Tojy (11) and Eddie Steele (44). The second wicket added 20 runs but the final 9 wickets fell for only 67 runs. Tom Cates (32) and Aashay Dube (19) made 51 of those with nobody else making more than 5 and three suffering ducks. A Gorton (44/4), Matthew Sidhu (13/4) and Luke Talalla (53/2) did the damage for Frogs to gain their success.
