 On a bright afternoon at Instow, Dumplings took on North Devon in a 40 over game. The Dumplings won the toss and having a strong batting lineup decided to bat. Sam Ewen (1) lasted 4 balls but Kenton Vos (63) and Corey Sinclair (95) put on 132 for the second wicket in a little over 15 overs. Niall Leahy (40) carried on the good work and there were cameos from Adrianne Immerman (21no) and Dan Fogarty (27no off 13 balls). Dumplings Skipper and President Bernie Wilson decided that 279 for 6 off 35 overs was enough and called the team in for an early tea. Mike Merrick was the pick of the hosts bowling picking up 3 wickets for 50. 

Was this going to be enough with a slick outfield and a hard fast track? Adrianne Immerman obviously thought so and ripped out the early order taking the first 4 wickets for 10 runs (all bowled) leaving North Devon reeling on 21 for 4. A change of pace saw the two DD veterans come on to bowl. Bernie Wilson bowled a wily line and ended up with 4 for 38 as North Devon struggled to 102 for 8. Sam Ewen mopped up the last two for 15 and the hosts were all out for 125 in the 25th over. Barney Huxtable with 53 off 44 balls was the only batsman to look comfortable and DD won by 154 runs.
